Ioannis Alexakis
Ioannis Alexakis is the Director for Strategic Cybersecurity Planning at the National Cybersecurity Authority of the Ministry of Digital Governance.
He holds a bachelor degree from the Law Faculty of the University of Athens (2004), as well as a masters from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration (2009).
He is also a graduate of the National School of Public Administration (2006). He specializes in cybersecurity public policy, having graduated from the George C. Marshal European Center for Security Studies.
He, also, specializes in strategic and regulatory priorities in the field of cybersecurity, as well as coordinating the implementation of flagship cybersecurity projects at a national level.
Among other things, he was the main person responsible for proposing and supporting the national positions during the negotiation of the NIS 2 Directive at the EU level, while, as part of his duties, he is responsible for the preparation and monitoring of the implementation of the “National Cyber Security Strategy 2020-2025”, of the “Cyber Security Manual”, the “Cyber Security Self-Assessment Guide”, as well as the cyber security legislation in Greece.
He has a strong interest in the application of cyber security technologies, having certifications such as, ISO 27001: 2013 LA /Information Security Management Systems, CISM, Certified DPO /OPA and TUV Austria.
